Starting Classes

Starting Classes are different allocations of attributes and equipment that the player chooses at the start of the game during character creation.

Which starting class you choose has no bearing on the maximum soul level you can reach, which is 802. However, starting class has a substantial impact on the efficiency of the player's attributes when creating a build for a specific soul level, such as 125. It will also impact the player's experience through the early game progression until they gain access to more equipment.

In Champion's Ashes, all starting classes except Knight and Pyromancer had their starting attributes adjusted. All classes start at Soul Level 9 except Deprived, which starts at Soul Level 1.
